Privacy Policy — SVG Grabber by SVG Forge

Last updated: 2026-06-15

This policy explains what SVG Grabber by SVG Forge ("the extension") does and does not do with your data. The public version of this policy is hosted at https://svg.xeviora.com/privacy.

Summary

SVG Grabber does not collect, store, sell, or transmit any personal data. It has no analytics, no tracking, no account, and no backend that receives your information. Every action runs locally in your browser.

What the extension does

When you click the toolbar icon, the extension scans the current page for vector graphics (inline SVGs, .svg images, CSS background images, and embedded <object> graphics) and shows them in a popup. From there you can download an SVG, copy its source code, export it as a PNG, or open it in the SVG Forge web app to edit. You can also right-click any image and choose "Vectorize this image with SVG Forge" to send it to the converter tool.

All scanning, copying, and PNG conversion happens on your device, in your browser. The extension does not send the pages you visit, the SVGs you grab, or any other information to us or to any third party.

Data collection

None. The extension does not collect, log, or transmit:

  • personal or contact information,
  • browsing history or the URLs of pages you visit,
  • the content of pages you scan,
  • analytics, telemetry, or usage statistics.

There is no account, no sign-in, and no server that stores your data.

When you open the SVG Forge web app

The "Edit with AI" and "Vectorize" actions open a tab on the SVG Forge web app (svg.xeviora.com) and pass the selected SVG or image to it through the page URL fragment, which stays in your browser and is not sent to a server as part of that handoff. Once you are on the SVG Forge website, that site's own privacy policy applies. The link also carries a non-identifying utm_source marker so SVG Forge knows the visit came from the extension; it contains no personal data.

Permissions and why they are needed

The extension requests only what its features require:

  • activeTab — to read the current tab's content and collect its SVGs, only when you open the extension on that tab.
  • contextMenus — to add the right-click "Vectorize this image with SVG Forge" menu item.
  • downloads — to save the .svg files and PNG exports you explicitly choose to download.
  • clipboardWrite — to copy an SVG's source code to your clipboard when you click "Copy".
  • Host access (<all_urls>) — because SVGs can appear on any website, the extension must be able to read the page you are viewing and fetch referenced .svg files. This access is used only to find and grab SVGs locally; nothing is sent to any server.

Data sharing and sale

The extension shares no data with anyone and sells no data, because it collects none.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change and the current version will always be available at https://svg.xeviora.com/privacy.
